What a beautiful day

Kota had is first soccer game this season and even though they lost the coach told him he had his best game. That made him feel really good even though he wouldn't admit it and only focused on the bad parts of it. Plus it was a great day for a game. The sun was shining and it wasn't hot. Then it was off to take Emma to register for cheerleading and cheer camp. I'm glad that is out of the way. Now I need to find out if Joel really wants to play football or not. All these activities get expensive but I'd rather have them involved then sitting at home looking for something else to do.
I had to drop pictures off for my grandma of the kids. She is the one with the broken arm. She says it only hurts when she has to move it but other than that it's not a horrible pain. I'm hoping on her next xray it will show that everything is healing well. After her house we went to my moms to give her Logans pictures. We stayed there for a while and Logan liked looking at her fish and asking 100 questions. Then is was time to come home finally. I also stopped at walmart to get a nozzle for our hose and soap to wash our car. Eric's been at car shows all day and I feel like I have so much I want to get done.
Joel has been asking about going to DC and I've been promising him for a few years now that we would go. If Eric wouldn't go I'd only take the older boys but we'll see. I need to look into cost because I would like to go for at least a weekend. since there is so much to see and do there. Other than that the house needs a good cleaning again. I'd really like to know who this "Not Me" monster is and why he keeps coming into my house and messing it up. Oh and I also have to convinve my husband to pick up some landscaping stone tonight I got off of freecycle. I'm sure he'll love me for that. The kids are not getting much if anything for allowance. I think that's about all for my rant, I need to get to that cleaning.

long day

I had to work today and I was at a place I'm really not to fond of. I've come to the realization that when I'm there I'll never leave on time. It just confirms that going to school for my RN is my best option right now. I know it's going to be hard and expensive but in the end I'll be able to get a good job with good insurance and at least somewhat steady hours. I had a student with me today and she graduates with her LPN in less than 2 months and she can't find a job in her area. She's looked at all the local hospitals and nursing home and none are hiring. Seems like opportunities for RNs are greater than LPNs. A lot of facilities are doing away with LPNs. I go for my placement test Tues and I'm very nervous about it. I Hope everything goes well and I don't have to take a ton of classes. I'm just hoping for the best.
On a better note, this is the first beautiful day we've had here in a very long time. The sun was shining and it was just perfect for sitting outside. I didn't get to do that but I enjoyed what I could while running errands after work. I got a call from the school nurse that Dakota was sick and needed to go home. Apparently he tole Eric he wasn't feeling well before school and he sent him anyway ( would have done the same). The nurse said as soon as he got off the bus he went to the nurse and the nurse told him to give it about an hour than come back. ell 30 minutes later she said he was back in her office and vomited. So he earned him self a 5 day weekend since there is no school Monday for conferences. He's been on and off tonight. He'll get active far a little then be laying down. He wants to eat everything but I'm making him take it slow. I really don't need more wash to do. He has a soccer game on Sat so hopefully he'll be feeling better to do that. I think there's a stomach thing going around, we've had a lot at work with it.
The other kids are doing well so far. Tomorrow Joel has to finish his science fair project. He's making rock candy. 1 with a seeded string (string is saturated with sugar before putting in water) and 1 with a non seeded string that is untreated. We also tried with brown sugar but it is so dark it's hard to see how it's been growing. The hard part will be getting him to do all the work that will need to go into making the final project.
That's about all the time I have for tonight I'm gonna hang out here for a few more minutes and get to bed. I hope everybody has a good Friday.

where did the time go???

I can't believe it's been almost 5 months. The last time I wrote my cat had just had kittens and now we have found homes for all but 2 and finally they all are fixed so I won't have those worries again. I was just writing to an online friend and realized how much has been going on. I've been reading blogs but I've been having trouble commenting on some and I just haven't taken the time to figure out why.
My kids are doing OK we have our ups and downs every day. Joel is in learning support half the day and I think they are going to try and minimize that next year. His ADD medication was changed at the start of the year because the insurance wouldn't pay for it and his grades went down. So the doctor had him switched back to focalin. 2nd marking period he got all As and 2 Bs, 3rd marking period he got all Bs and 1 C not a drastic drop but his C was in history which he got As in the first 2 marking periods.
Dakota has had a very rough year. He struggled in kindergarten and he kept on struggling in first grade. The school worked with him a lot and his progress seemed to flat line. the school psychiatrist evaluated him and determined that he had mental retardation. So he is also in learning support half of the day. I took him to a neurologist just for a consult to see if there was anything that needed further testing. He determined that he had a learning delay and possible high functioning autism. He ordered blood work and we will get the results next month. He also suggested a behavioral psychologist to deal with my issues with him which is anger at his siblings because they can do most things better than him. He gets very frustrated and it's hard for me because I don't want them to not do things they are capable of but I don't want Dakota to feel like an outsider. He's in soccer again this season and we've only had 1 practice but like last year it takes a lot of convincing to get him into it. I kind of have to leave the field and sit in my car so I'm out of site.
Emma my other ADD child is having a rough time of it outside the school. She loves school and can't wait to go every day but she easily finds herself in trouble around the house. We live in a secluded area with a farm on one side and woods behind us. We have a neighbor boy (teenage) and a few months ago emmas friend told her mom he stuffed pine needles down her pants. I happened to be at work at the time so I'm not sure what was going on but Emma was there and said it happened. Of course he and his family denies it but he was home alone at the time. Emma has knocked on his door before and he will come out and be mean to them. He has a brother Emmas age and she looks to play with him. So I not sure if they knocked on the door and he got angry or what but we now have to go to court over this because he was charged with harassment and plead not guilty. It's really crazy but hopefully it will all be done and over with soon.
Logan is a trooper. In Jan he had his tonsils and adenoids out and tubes put back in his ears. He is sleeping all night and seems to be hearing much better. He's in speech therapy once a week and we are working on him using his words for what he wants since he has gotten so used to pointing or I just know what he wants and get it for him. Other than that there's not much for him. At this point I don't think I could handle much more for him.
Then there's the cats. They've all been fixed and are now unable to have anymore babies YEA!!!! 1 went to my brother in law, 1 to a neighbor and 1 to a family on Craigslist. we kept 2 Fatso (my hubby named him) and Sophie. We also still have the mom and first daughter. Can't forget the fish!! My hubby decided to clean out the fish tank for me and before I knew it he was using Clorox on the filter. He said don't worry I'm rinsing it with hot water...LMAO. So that night we lost 2 fish. The next day 1 fish, then the last 2 went not long after that. So we are Left with a very clean fish tank with not 1 fish in it. The guy at the pet store said to change the water out and rinse everything with WATER only then let it sit for a few days then only add 1 fish to see if it's OK. He tried but I'm still trying to figure out what was going through his head.
You know there is still more t=but that will have to wait for another day because I need to go get my kids from church. If you read through this and survived than you get a sticker. If not I got it off my chest and wow I think I'm feeling a little better
Have a great end of the week

getting things done today

Hello all. Thought I'd take a quick break and write an entry before I got to bed.
I was determined to get a crap load of stuff done before I have to work 7 days straight. I got up this morning and went to see my grandma. I really don't get to see her enough and my goal is to get out there at least 2 times a month. She just had skin cancer removed from her leg and it's really sore for her. She's not too much into the spirit and I think she's a little depressed. But we did have a good visit and she enjoyed seeing Logan. Then I went and scheduled Dakota's birthday party. It was actually yesterday but it took us forever to decide where to finally have it. Then I had to pick up Emma from my moms and do more running around. I didn't get home until 5 minutes before my kids got off the bus. I was so exhausted and just wanted to go to bed but that would have been too easy. I made spaghetti for supper while Joel argued with me repeatedly about spending money he got from my grandma for his birthday. Then is was time to take Em to cheer leading practice and all the boys needed haircuts so that's what they got. and I picked her up and now I'm here and exhausted. They are all in bed quietly. I could really use a massage right about now. I still have stuff on my list to complete but that will have to wait until another day.

Eric went hunting today. Luckily he didn't catch anything. I DO NOT liker deer meat and I don't want any part of a dead deer. I prefer looking at them run in the field next to our house. I understand they need to control the population but I do not have to be a part of that. But there's more days left for him to hunt so I can only pray. I got Eric his early Christmas present. His shaver has been on the verge of trash for the last few months so I spotted a Norelco with a vacuum for the hair!! I thought this was perfect because I always have to yell at him about leaving his hair all over the sink. I can't wait til he uses it.

Did anybody see Jupiter and Venus last night. They were bright stars right near the moon. I took pictures and developed them for Joel because he just did a report on Jupiter.
The cats are doing well I believe. With all my running around I really didn't get to see them much.

That's all I have time for tonight
Time to get a nice warm shower and snuggle in be
Goodnight

I'm a bad blogger

I haven't been writing very much things just seem to never slow down to where I can just sit back and relax. I have been trying to read when I can but it's harder to keep up since I don't get e mails about new entries.
I'll start off with the latest thing that has had me running ragged. As you know I took in my MILs cat and that cats kitten, turns out the mother was pregnant again when we got her. I had already gotten her shots and had her scheduled to be fixed. Well Sat at 1pm she had a kitten, then a 3 pm came #2. That was all we thought we had. I was concerned about the older kitten being aggressive to the babies and trying to hurt them so I emailed Kelli (Thoughts of a Sober White Woman) and she was great about giving me advice.

Then last night at 7 pm Emma tells me Muffin is having another kitten "I see it coming out her butt!!!"...lol. I thought that was the end. Then at midnight I get up to go to the bathroom and notice something laying by the wheel of my bed. it is a kitten that unfortunately didn't make it and the there was another one under the bed that was meowing when it came from under the bed I noticed the mom hadn't cleaned her or removed the placenta. So I tied that off and put her with the other kittens but the mother was doing nothing with any of them. I emailed Kelli again and she gave me all the info I needed to take care of them if the mom decided to abandon them. I started cleaning up some of the mess from the mom and kept hearing a meowing sound. I got to the end of the bed and there was yet another kitten with placenta attached. So after I got that all taken care of I ran to Wal mart for kitten bottles while Eric cleaned the carpets at 3am. I finally got home and got everything ready and the mom was laying on the bed. So I figured I'd lay the kittens with her before using the bottle. They started drinking well, I just had to help the one kitten who was the smallest get a nipple. She was just a little to weak to fight for one herself. But today they have been doing well. I don't think I could have done it without Kelli's help. So we have 5 kittens and in a little over a month they will be needing homes so if anybody local...hint hint Missie...lol we're looking for homes.

That's all I have time to writ about tonight I have to finish cleaning and laundry and plan a birthday party

good night all

So we're almost done soccer and cheer leading is going to slow down a bit. Emma will just have practice tues and thurs and we don't have a competition until December. Joel will have basketball practice every Sat and Sun starting Nov 15th but it's just a learning program so there will be no extra games. Good news is the 2 boys want to play football next year. I was so excited to hear that as it will make my life 100 times less complicated. They will all have practice the same times and days. The game schedule will be different but manageable.

My husband is officially laid off. it is so much earlier this year than last year. He delivers housing materials to job sites so I guess since there's no point in building houses there's no supplies for him to drop off. I sure do hope the economy makes an upturn soon. I fell it will take very many years for all this mess to straighten out. I feel it's a series of mistakes from the president, stock markets and mortgage lenders. All I know is in 2011 I'm buying a house, I never want to have to rent again.

It is so cold here. I think colder this time of year than many years past. I remember right after Joel was born we went to the Halloween parade and I had him in shorts because it was so warm. My husband and I were just talking about how cold it will be at Emma's practice tonight when the parent advisor called and said it was cancelled tonight WOO HOO. This was to be their last outside practice.

Joel is doing awesome in school this year. I just went to an IEP and there were nothing but great comments about him. He's working hard and he's answering questions in class. Last year he was so shy and wouldn't raise his hand for anything. He comes home does his homework and I check and sign. There is no more fighting anymore. I'm so proud of how he's maturing.

Dakota is a work in progress. I love him but he is strong headed and not very opened minded. It's his way or the highway. it takes much encouragement to get his homework done on a nightly basis. He usually has extra work due to reading support and occupational therapy. I think he is getting better as we go and his teachers and guidance counselors are really working with him. Last year he had a tough time in soccer following directions and getting along with his teammates. This year started that way but he really turned around halfway though and made a lot of friends and started to learn in soccer.

Emma loves everything and everybody. She is very curious and gets into a lot of trouble because of that. She's creative and artistic. It's hard to keep her mind busy and occupied and out of trouble. I think she's getting better in school trying to stay on task she is a nosey child. Cheer leading is her favorite and for sure after this year is over I will be putting her in gymnastics. It will help her with the competition squad.

Logan is a typical 2 year old. He gets his attitude from his brothers and sister and loves to play. He would love to stay up all night and sleep all day. He slept today until 1100. Tomorrow he has school so he'll be up bright and early. He imitates anything his siblings do and his favorite toy is the new kitten. He thinks she is his personal playmate. I don't think her feelings are mutual.

Not sure how I got into this whole thing but just taking some time to type away. I've got laundry to do again and supper to make I hope everybody has a safe and happy (and warm) Halloween

I need the schedues to END!!!!

I have been so busy with the soccer and cheerleading schedules that I don't feel like I have a minute to breath. I wanted to have Joel's party at a skating rink but I couldn't find any good times to have it. Now because of work being short on hours I have 4 days to plan and have a party. Luckily a local park had pavilions available so we're gonna do that. I'm not doing anything extravagant maybe some Halloween themed things. If anybody knows of any good games let me know. For his present from us we are taking him to see High School Musical 3. He is in love with the first and second ones and wants to look just like Troy Bolton

Logan had his first preschool field trip today. We went to a local farm and had a hayride. They really set it up nice with decorations for the kids. We each got to pick 4 apples, 1 pumpkin and 2 gourds. He did really well and had lots of fun. When we went to pick put pumpkins he picked one up and I said "ohh don't pick that one it is yucky". So he drops it and it splits right down the center and all the guts fly out. The boys thought that was very funny. His favorite part was watching the tractor go. I got some pictures I want to get up here.

Last Saturday we went to Field of Screams with some friends. It was nice to get out and do something fun for a change. They last time I had been to a haunted house was before I had kids 9 years ago because I was always pregnant. It is a farm where there is a hayride and 2 houses to go through. we only did the hayride and one house because the lines were so long but our ticket is still good for the other house. A friend at work was telling me there's an even better place called Shocktoberfest about 45 minutes from here. I'm planning that for next year.

I'm gonna try to get some pictures up here quick and I got laundry as usual to do.
I got some of the pictures up I want to do some of the other kids too but the first one is of Emma doing her homecoming routine, next is Rose Bud our kitten, Then Emma doing a stunt and then Muffin the mama cat and last is logan in orange at the fieldtrip
